The grade 304 is widely used steel where the different grade of 304 only differs in carbon content. We manufacture the sheets or plates using 304L grade that has extra-low carbon content (0.03%). This low content causes little difference in their performance. It helps in minimizing or eliminating the carbide precipitation that occurs during the welding process. This made it excellent steel to be worked in both welded and severe corrosive environments. 304L grade steel also eliminates the need for annealing welding of joints.
This austenitic stainless steel belongs to the T-300 series of steel families. It possesses properties such as ease of fabrication, excellent corrosion resistance, and outstanding formability, making it ideal for commercial and home applications. The UNS S30403 stainless steel is used in food processing equipment, construction material, heat exchangers, nuts, bolts, woven or welded screens, and architectural molding. Since it needs no post-weld annealing thus, Stainless Steel 304L is useful in heavy gauge components.
The Stainless Steel 304L Sheets/ Plates have properties similar to that in ASTM A240/A240M. Corrosion resistance properties make it ideal to be used in corrosive media to resist cracking above 60 degrees C. The SS 304L sheets show resistance to water containing chlorides up to 200 mg/L at 60 degrees C. The UNS S30403 offers good resistance to oxidation in continuous and intermittent services at 925 degrees C and 870 degrees C, respectively.
